CORE Opens The Hub in Altadena
In late October, CORE hosted an open house for “The Hub,” an all-new space in the heart of Altadena available to residents affected by both the Eaton and Palisades Fires. Over a hundred people attended to learn all about what The Hub offers, including Representative Judy Chu, who was on hand to celebrate the occasion and to recognize CORE for its continued wildfire response.
Since January 2025, CORE has been in both Pacific Palisades and Altadena, helping residents affected by the fires. From vital cash assistance, which provided $3 million to fire survivors, to smoke remediation that cleared over a hundred homes of toxic and dangerous materials.
The Hub serves as the centerpiece of CORE’s five-year recovery plan. It’s a space where residents can connect with CORE and other technical experts and service providers to support their journey home. Some of these services include resource navigation, legal and insurance claim support, and financial assistance.
Beyond that, The Hub is a space for residents to simply gather, connect with each other, and understand that they’re not going through all this alone; they are the community, and the community is with them.

The Hub also serves as the operations headquarters for CORE’s Disaster Case Management (DCM) program, which is run by a dedicated team of caseworkers who guide residents through the often confusing and arduous rebuilding process. Our caseworkers help survivors secure aid, connect with vetted professionals, and access grants and services that reduce financial and logistical barriers to rebuilding.

At CORE, we’re committed to the long-term recovery of Altadena and the Pacific Palisades. We know this journey will be longer than most had hoped, but we will be with fire victims every step of the way.
