Tenzin Manell
Senior Advisor, Cash & Markets
Tenzin first joined CORE when we were J/P HRO managing livelihoods and community development initiatives. Today, after years of working to promote economic empowerment and protection in the humanitarian space, Tenzin has rejoined CORE as our Senior Advisor, Cash & Markets. As a technical expert in Cash & Voucher Assistance, Tenzin supports our program teams to identify how cash and voucher assistance can help those affected by crises survive and thrive and design effective evidence-based programs.
From an early age, Tenzin has been passionate about gender equality and driven to contribute to dignified and effective poverty alleviation work. Her humanitarian journey has taken her across South America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, working with global organizations to implement cash and livelihoods programming and conduct research to improve programming for displaced marginalized populations, including women, adolescents, individuals living with disabilities and individuals with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities.
Tenzin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economic Development and Gender Studies from Hampshire College and a Master’s degree in International Development Management from the London School of Economics.
“CORE is a disruptor in the humanitarian arena and Cash & Voucher Assistance is a disruptor too – both are shifting power so that people affected by crisis lead their own response. It is a natural fit that CORE leverages its nimble spirit and ever-expanding skills and systems to deliver cash assistance quickly, efficiently, and effectively to meet needs and empower communities.”
