CORE Partners on Altadena Prefab Showcase

Since November, CORE has proudly partnered with LA4LAcityLAB-UCLA, County of Los Angeles, RnLA, and ARRC to support a special housing showcase in Altadena for Eaton Fire survivors.

The site features six styles of prefab and modular buildings, each meeting fire code and designed to fit a range of resident needs. Whether used temporarily as homeowners rebuild on their property, as a semi-permanent solution, or as a future ADU, these designs give Altadena residents real, affordable options as they navigate their path back home.

We know that the road back home is unfortunately long, often full of unforeseen challenges, and never straightforward. This showcase is an opportunity to explore options that might offer financial flexibility and a faster timeline. Everyone affected who wants to move back home deserves to do so and to know the options that can make that possible.

On-site at the showcase, CORE also has two disaster case managers available to help people connect with resources, including insurance support and financing applications.

“CORE’s Disaster Case Managers engage with residents daily, and nearly all of the concerns they hear revolve around housing — from affordability and availability to navigating the process and finding a true sense of home,” said Tracy Reines, CORE’s LA Wildfire Disaster Response Lead. “This innovative prefab marketplace highlights the possibilities for what can be achieved right here in Altadena.”

The showcase will be open until Sunday, November 7th

  • 2231 Lincoln Avenue
  • Open through December 7th

CORE's Long-term Commitment

CORE will remain committed to Altadena and all those impacted by these devastating wildfires. CORE recently opened The Hub, the heart of our disaster case management program. The Hub also hosts helpful workshops and can connect fire victims with other organizations that offer additional services.

CORE will also be opening a Community Center on the same lot where the showcase is currently located. This center will offer holistic wraparound services to address the long-term needs of community members. These include mental health support for seniors, critical educational workshops on rebuilding and preparedness, and long-term community-building efforts.
