Founded in the aftermath of the 2010 Haiti earthquake, CORE was born from crisis and built on action, compassion, and community. Fifteen years later, that same spirit drives our global work in disaster response and recovery.
This Giving Season, we’re reflecting on the power of collective action. Here’s the truth: most of CORE’s donors give around $25. And together, those gifts have sustained our programs for 15 years, helping us serve 13.5 million people worldwide in times of crisis and beyond.

In 2025, our donors stepped up in big ways to help CORE reach more families impacted by crisis. Thanks to you, we activated 8 new emergency responses, from California and Alaska to Syria and Jamaica. Meanwhile, we sustained our longstanding operations in Sudan, Ukraine, Haiti, and across the U.S. in North Carolina, California, and Georgia.

A Note From Our CEO
CORE’s early days in Haiti were all about rolling up our sleeves and getting to work, no matter how great the challenge. It’s how we cleared literal tons of rubble, ran the largest camp of displaced people in Haiti, and stood shoulder to shoulder with communities to rebuild.
This year is no different. Drastic federal funding cuts stretched our ability to reach vulnerable families impacted by historic natural disasters and humanitarian crises, including the Los Angeles wildfires, ongoing conflicts in Sudan and Ukraine, and, most recently, Hurricane Melissa.
But Haiti taught us that every solution starts with showing up—and that a single action can spark change and inspire a movement. Now, more than ever, we’re counting on you to show up for the people who need it most.

As 2025 comes to a close, we’ve included a few friendly reminders to help you make a year-end gift that meets the IRS guidelines for a 2025 tax deduction:
- Checks mailed via USPS must be postmarked by December 31, 2025. The postmark date is used as your gift date.
- Online gifts must be made by 11:59pm PST on December 31, 2025.
- Please note that Tuesday, December 30 is the last business day of the year. For expedited processing, we encourage you to make your gift online.
