Sam Archbold
Area Director, Georgia
CORE laid its roots in Georgia during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially providing free and vital COVID-19 tests and vaccines to hard-hit communities. With Sam’s support, CORE Georgia scaled exponentially, operating statewide mobile vaccination clinics that have administered 626,000 COVID-19 vaccines and 412,000 tests to hard-to-reach, underserved, and otherwise vulnerable community members, including those without insurance, those living in rural locations, and people of color.
Today, as Area Director, Sam oversees all of CORE’s health access programs in Georgia, including the mobile health teams which provide communities with both immediate health interventions and tools to address their health needs thereafter. This includes offering crucial immunizations and health screenings, at-home test kits, and connecting community members to state and federal resources. Under his leadership, the Georgia program has engaged hundreds of local partners and maintained critical partnerships over the years. This, he posits, is vital to facilitating comprehensive health care and fostering enduring health equity. Sam holds a Master of Public Health from Georgia State School of Public Health.
“It’s not just about providing immediate aid, but also about giving people the support and resources they need to rebuild their lives and communities. I believe that everyone deserves to live with dignity and to have the opportunity to thrive, especially when they are facing overwhelming circumstances.”
